How to Animate in Adobe Photoshop

When I started dabbling in animation I went to the best tool out there, YouTube! Many on the site said to start with Krita Animation. It is a easy beginner program in this field and also FREE. I can honestly say Krita and Photoshop are so complicated and seem overwhelming. But in the end, the more you play with these programs the better you get at it and easier they are to understand. I will attempt to explain this as simply as possible.

First, go to windows tab way at the top of the page where it says file, edit, etc… all that jazz

In that menu you will see “timeline” open this and chose video timeline. If the first thing that pops up is blue then your good. If not go to the tip top again under edit and go down to layer you should pick “New video Layer” and it should come up blue.

To navigate the animation you should turn on onion skins and begin to draw on you first layer. After this is complete press the right arrow key and a new later will come up with a fade image of your previous layer.

Continue to draw and press right to make a post-it-note type flip book animation. In the video below I explain how to do this and how to save your animation below. (Thanks for watching  subscribe)
